Two years after their debut, Gojira tightens its focus. The Link seeks connection, between humankind and the living world, but also between the songs themselves, woven with instrumental interludes (“Connected”, “Torii”, “Dawn”) that turn the album into a single breath. Recorded at Studio des Milans, their barn-headquarters, it breathes independence. The sound grows more cohesive and spiritual, the rhythms more hypnotic. Carried by the single “Indians”, this is a band sharpening its own language, laying, stone by stone, the identity that would break through two years later.
